After a long hiatus to pursue other interests and business endeavor's , HIW chairman, and owner "The Boss" Bruce Wimberly wasn't a happy man, what was once a predominant force in the southwest has been reduced to, all but a shell of what it used to be, The Boss decided to cease operations for now and totally rebuild the organization bigger and better than before. saying true to a statement that he used prior to becoming HIW champion in 2002 " If you want something right, you have to do it yourself ! ". In doing so HIW has adopted a new logo, equipment ,titles and much more. HIW will resume operations this spring.

"The Boss" Bruce Wimberly's first order of business was to vacate all incumbent champions, and to vanquish the HIW United States, and Cruiserweight championships. His reason to do away with the Cruiserweight title is is the fact that wrestling is getting more and more fast paced, the attention span of a fan is getting short, and to avoid easy boredom, most wrestlers aren't over 220 lbs these days like NWA TNA, and Ring of Honor among others who operate a unique division HIW will now do the same. For the first time in history High Impact wrestling will have an open invitation to enter the HIW Championship tournament at High Impact Wrestling's Rebirth Super Show .
